Replacing the foam pad on your Rowe/AMI vinyl or CD jukebox
In time, the foam pad behind the Central Control Computer board, begins to deteriorate and may cause unusual problems with your jukebox. Before
removing the CCC, mark each connector position. You can remove the gummed up foam from the circuit board using a toothbrush with warm water and mild soap.
A hair dryer can be used to dry out the board. Examine the solder joints, especially around connector pins, this is the usual cause of most board failures.
A cheap mouse pad can then be used to replace the original foam pad.
Always replace both output transistors on an amplifier
In push-pull type amplifiers, it is important that balance be maintained between the two halves of the circuit. Unmatched output transistors, such as from
different manufacturers (or batches), may not have the same operating characteristics and will cause current hogging which creates distortion and excessive heat.

We repaired many Rowe R-84 through R-94 and CD100 Central Control Computers. Much of what we've seen, especially on the vinyl jukeboxes, are CCC failures caused by deteriorating foam pads and acid leaking batteries. It is important that you check your control computer
for this condition. Before removing the CCC, mark each connector position.
